Newly Crowned Miss USA Speaks On Girl Positivity

In true 2020 fashion another major headline was made over the weekend a Black woman from Mississippi was named Miss USA for the first time in pageant history.

The 22 year old named Asya Branch was called as the winner at Elvis Presley’s Graceland in Memphis on late Monday according to “People”. During the competition Branch expressed her love for guns and her views on laws that pertain to them. The newly crowned beauty queen was overwhelmed with joy hearing her name called in what she described as a “surreal” moment that she is “grateful” and “humbled” by. Branch also shared her desires to continue work towards “prison reform” and inspiring “little girls across the nation”.
